Decodingmetabolismin human disease.

Discover our mission

Our mission

From the fundamental principles of metabolism to the mechanisms driving human disease.

Metabolism is a fundamental regulator of cellular behaviour, orchestrating how tissues function, adapt and ultimately fail in disease.

Our research explores how mitochondrial biology and cellular metabolism regulate tissue adaptation and disease progression, using cancer and neurodegenerative disorders as complementary models in which metabolic dysfunction is a fundamental driver of pathology.

By integrating multi-omics, biochemistry, bioenergetics, genome engineering and advanced preclinical models, we uncover the molecular mechanisms controlling metabolic adaptation and identify new opportunities for therapeutic intervention.
